Orb: a personal AI assistant
A personal AI assistant should help with the ordinary jobs that compete for your attention. Orb works on your Windows PC with your email, calendar, notes and connected services. You can ask by voice or text, keeping the work in your own accounts instead of copying everything into a new workspace.
Turn loose ends into clear requests
Start with a specific question: which emails need a decision today? Orb can search, read and summarise Gmail, then draft replies you can review. For your calendar, ask it to add an appointment, move a meeting or tell you what is next. Google access comes through your own account approval, which you can revoke.
Notes make the assistant useful beyond one conversation. Orb can read and write an Obsidian vault, maintain a notepad in Google Docs and recall information from your documents with its source. Ask it to research a question, return links and save the conclusion. Treat the result as something to check, particularly when a decision depends on accuracy.
Admin, reminders and optional connections
For business admin, Orb can make and save an invoice from a spoken request and help track expenses. Supply the details, review the document and decide what to do with it. Orb does not take payment or move money. Producing an invoice is useful assistance, not a substitute for checking your records and obligations.
Optional connections extend those everyday jobs. With your own Twilio setup, Orb can text you about something important, call your phone, or phone a restaurant to arrange a table. Social connections can let it post and reply on Instagram with approval. These tasks need the relevant accounts and credentials; they are not included telecommunications or social services bundled into the purchase.
Know what you are handing over
Orb keeps its files and action log on your PC, but it uses Anthropic and your connected providers to do the work. Your own keys do not make those requests offline. Review permissions and choose which optional tools to enable. Outbound actions ask first; read-only background check-ins can prepare briefings and drafts. The pause switch gives you a way to stop actions.
The software opens October 15 at $349 once. Claude Pro ($20/month) is required for Claude Code to set it up and make changes. Install Claude for Windows, attach your Orb zip in its Code tab, and say help me set this up. Separately, Orb runs on your Anthropic API key, usually about $5–15/month, with a cap you set. Optional providers can add costs. Orb Assistant is independent and not endorsed by Anthropic.

Yes. Orb works with connected Gmail and Google Calendar to read email, draft replies and manage events. Sending and other outbound actions require your approval.
Will Orb remember my preferences?
Orb keeps preferences and facts for later conversations, and you can ask it to forget. Its notes and local files remain on your PC.
Is there an Orb subscription?
